Hello everyone. I am upgrading from Steve LEDs to 2 AI Hydra 26s. I have my current lights sitting on top of the canopy with an acrylic sheet covering the cutout of the canopy. I added the acrylic because the Steve LEDs are exposed and that kept them from getting splashed and the salt creep out. Am I okay to set the hydras on the acrylic or will this cause an issue? The instructions of the hydras say not to lay it on any objects while on.

I just want to know if I need to look into a mounting system or if they are fine to be on the acrylic. I would prefer to keep the canopy since the cats are always jumping on top of the tank and to keep their hair out.

The heat from the LED's could melt/burn the acrylic and the lens of the fixture without proper spacing.

DO NOT lay them flat on the acrylic. I had mounted two AI Primes inside the canopy of my RSM C130, the mount failed on one of them and it ended up resting on the acrylic. Which It then proceeded to melt a hole through even though my light was only running at 60%.
