Hydro Koralia - Mystery Spring

I have some older hydor koralia 3 power heads. I took one apart to clean it today and discovered a little spring in the bucket. I’ve cleaned these a decent number of times and haven’t ever noticed this spring. Where does this go?

I also cleaned an MP40 wet side in this bucket minutes before, but that seems less likely as I don’t take that apart at all to clean.

Looks like it slips over the shaft somewhere that needs tension. Possibly holding the cage on?

Not from the vortech 100%.

Fwiw its called a shock absorber....
But no clue where on the pump it is supposed to reside.

Nice find! Sometimes the trick is knowing the correct term haha ok I’ll play around with it and see if I can get it to “absorb any shock”
