Hi guys, I have a question . I have a 90 gallon reef tank with a 40 gallon sump, protein skimmer and refugium underneath. The tank has an overflow and return in the back left corner. I picked up a HK 3 and was wondering where would be the best place to add it. I placed it on the back right about halfway down the glass and have it pointed up. It puts out a really good flow and the fish will come over and swim against the current. How do you determine the best placement for power heads? Thanks

I have two K3's in my 75 and have them on both sides toward the top so it agitates the water surface and close to the front glass. Mine are both pointed straight but angled toward the opposite corner. It is going to depend on your specific tank and what coral you have where and how you have the rock set up.

I have hk4's on my 75 omg do they push some water. Took a while 2 find proper spots with out blowing pits in my sand. Just keep moving it around till you find good flow with no dead spots

the corals I have are zoas and star polyps planning on adding some mushrooms but that will be about the extent of the corals. I also have a large bubble tip , small bubble tip and sebae anenomes. Is it better tp[point them straight up? Thanks

I have one on one end and the other end about 2/3 up from bottom facing up to just ripple the surface a little. Try that and see how it works for you. Might be different than mine cause you only have 1 hk3 in a 90 :)

I currently run three K2s in a 75. One on each end pointing across the tank towards the opposite corner and a third in the middle pointed towards the front to create a bit of tumbling action to the current.
One word of caution. I lost a large RBTA due to it turning loose and floating into a K2. It did not take long for the K2 to turn it into nothing. I have since covered my power heads with a nylon mesh I found at walmart. This prevented the loss of another anemone during another movement.
