For the 1 “, it looks like it is inner dimension, and would go with 1.25” fittings. Is that correct?

All PVC pipe is sized based on nominal ID. You probably have realized that.

Flex PVC is awesome on reef tank plumbing. I used it exclusively on the drains and return in my current tank.

I ran flex pvc on my FW 180 and hard plumbing on my 30 frag tank. If you have long runs or an area that a sweeping curve will do, it's amazingly convenient. As for the brand, I just picked up the ace hardware spa tube.
