I've seen some past posts about this and know there is a guy in a FB that swears by it and I'm sick of arguing with him. Is there anyone with any proof that H2O2 will kill marine crypto in safe doses in a reef?

That isn't a simple question. One of the biggest problems is how to define how much H2O2 is safe in a reef.

It is proven that H2O2 will kill Cryptocaryon theronts when in a high enough concentration. I wouldn't want to add enough to my tank to reach that level but I can't say for sure what would happen. What I can say with some confidence is that, unless you use it at high levels for a long period of time it will not eliminate Ich.

Polylab Medic is a product that works very similar to H2O2 (some people think it is H2O2 or a salt that releases it). Odds are it will work to reduce theront populations for a period of time after adding it. I wouldn't count on it clearing ich from a tank. It may knock the infestation back enough to help your fish recover if you have a stressor event that caused the ich breakout.

I used reef medic in combination with uv and successfully kicked ich 4 months ago. The medic killed all of my sponge though which is a concern of the h2o2 so I would believe that's at least part of the ingredients in the medic.

i would highly doubt that it completely removed all ick from your tank.. ... again.. if the maker of the product would advise what and how it works ... then more would be onboard.. 40 years of products claiming to kill ick.. not one yet is proven to do that and be reef safe..

I am not referring to methods such as copper and hypo or TTM.. which have been shown to work. just my opinion.. but would not want someone here thinking that they can avoid doing QT and just use this product..
