Hey guys, need help with this one. Seems like a hydroid to me. If confirmed could also use some tips on what to do with them.

Guys I had aiptasia (possibly have), this looks nothing like it. Tentacles are coming out right off of the rock, there’s no classic anemone center. Also came out only when the lights turned off. Nothing there during the day. It’s not aiptasia, that’s 100%. If not hydroid, what else could it be?

There are many aptasia and also many hydroids.

I am just surprised as I was in front of the tank for half a day today and saw nothing. Then an hour after lights off a cluster of 3 showed up. Seems odd to me. Aiptasia that I’ve dealt with is always light hungry.

Hahahaha.
I'll take six.

Seriously, I've seen them on R2r crawling up the glass.....

Best to say whoops than have something over run the tank. If it’s good you can find more somplace to replace it.

Yep... I try to have strict control what in there. Funny thing is that my previous DT, I never cared, got dynos in there and aiptasia, that's it. Started from scratch due to dyno with a brand new tank.

This tank, I am controlling everything with inspection, microscope, QT for fish, dipping/peroxide bath for plugs, etc. So far I've had aiptasia (first frag send from another member here, thanks bud), bubble algae, hair algae, briopsis, diatoms, cyano, and Ich, and vermatid.

Lesson learned - do nothing = dynos. Do everything humanly possible = get everything other then Dynos. :)
