Hydroid? Coral? Hitchhiker on Maxima Clam

Doesn't quite match anything I have seen in the ID thread. Tips are purple-ish changing to a lime green in the center.

Agitated my clam on purpose to enable identification.

Yeah i figured those were hydroids, but like this other thing I've never seen and doesn't match really anything - close to a pipe organ or clove but not quite.

My first though was a green star polyp. If the other is hydroids, you want to get that out of your tank and address it ASAP.

Im keeping an eye on it - im not 100% convinced its hydroids.

Agreed - I looked closer- has a "mat" base - looks like gsp in infancy.

Im keeping an eye on it - im not 100% convinced its hydroids.

The problem.with hydroids is once you realize you have them, its to late. I'd quarantine it if you can.

That's what I thought, heh - but I doubt it. No skeleton I can see.

It's definitley not a hydroid: I finally ruled them out. I did the deep dive on google image and this forum and the differences are apparent.

Make sure you googled the right kind of hydroids, colonial hydroids. I don't think that is hydroids either, but it's good to know what they look like. They are a real beacch to get rid of.

So here is a short video - I just fed so there's a lot of particulate - but the creature in question is on the shell of the clam roughly center mass of the video.
