So, I have these little circular bodies with star-like legs coming off of them. Here are some pictures, sorry they're blurry/noisy I don't have a zoom well enough to capture them in good sharpness.

Anyways, a google search tells me these are Hydroids, and a further google search tells me that things vary by species of hydroid. My questions are, are these destructive/nuisance species that I need to get rid of? and if so, how do I get rid of them? I've not found any solid information despite searching for 2 days. Everything I find seems to contradict what I read before it, lol. So any help is appreciated.

they seem to pop up during new tanks and if they are the ones that only appear on the glass, I think you should be good to wait it out. The ones you should remove are the colonial hydroids.

yeah, they are on the glass, and on the back AIO panel, I can't really see them anywhere else, though they're super small so I doubt I could see them if they were on a rock anyways, lol.

yea I have them in my tank. They definitely exploded over night and the over the course of a few weeks the population slowly died down. I can still spot them here or there.

here are what colonial hydroid look like (ripped from another thread)
