Got hundreds of these little guys that have popped up across the rockwork in my tank. Do not react to being touched. Fairly difficult to remove. Curious to thoughts on what they are.

Might be hydroids. I'm not much of a critter expert but I do know if you have hundreds of something and you didn't purposely put it there, it's bad. Hundreds becomes thousands overnight. Hopefully we can get a pest expert on here to help you eradicate this mess.

You say they don't react to touch. Are they rigid or soft?
They are soft. They seem to be some type of filter feeder. Kinda fluffy looking. Can scape them off the rocks though with a brush. Just don’t detach easily or In one piece.
There are some feather duster type of worms in the tanks that react to me waving my hand over the light or getting close to them. These don’t react at all to movement or light changes. Not even when I scrape from rock.

This almost sounds more like a type of macro algae. Aiptasia and majano react to touch. I think hydroids do as well. At least my digitate hydroids do.

The thought of algae didn't cross my mind, but is an interesting thought. Their growth seems determinant, they start off pretty small, and then seem to cap out at the size show. The big ones are about 50% larger than the head of a ballpoint pen. A pale grey color under white light.
