@Lionfish Lair please help me with these two IDs.. I have a 30 gallon with one thing and a 75 gallon which I just soaked some of my rocks in h202 that had a ton of algae on it and found these that you see in the cup.. I looked on your page but I want your opinion and what should I do to rid the ones in my 30 gallon. If they are hydroids that is.. first pic is 30 gallon and second pic is what came off my rocks from my 75 gallon.. minus the brittle stars of course

This is also. On the rock with the neon green things and the brown hairy looking patches.. these have white dots

Also I saw where this could be hydroids and I thought they were feather dusters but this rock is in my 75 and covered in super man shrooms

From what I see they're called colonial hydroids, supposedly they are dangerous to coral but the ones in my tank haven't done anything so far

Oh great.. we put aphasia x so far so good.. just one one of the rock as we ran out

Yes, I agree those are hydroids. Are they "in" little brown pliable tubes?

In post #4, do you think that could be a ball anemone? On my iPad I'm seeing little dots.

I'm not sure but yes I see what you see.. it's dead now along with the thing beside it.. so on the 30 gallon pics.. what should we do about getting rid of all of that? Should we be concerned with this type of hydroids and the one with the white dot things is that a different type of hydroids? Little upsetting that this whole rock needs to be torched or something with tiny shrooms all over it

Don't torch!!!!!

I would grab the brown tubes with one hand and scrape them them off with a knife or something. Dig a little into the surface rock while scraping.

The ball anemene is cool. They rarely go crazy in numbers and would be a welcome addition in my tank.

What about the one beside it? And I'm not sure how any of this got in my tank regardless.. also what is the white dots and the rock with white tubes

Also when I was dipping some of my rock I did notice what looked like a medium size slime thing that resembled a jelly fish lol.. it didn't have a center

I think I'm a little confused, as I'm having trouble scrolling on my iPad. I'm missing my 27" monitor right about now. I'm not really sure which picture/critter which we're talking about.

That first picture is the ball anemone. He's cool and I would leave that be.

The second pic is some sort of small starfish/Brittlestar. That's the central disc the arrow is pointing to. If they are still alive, I would put them back in.
