just curious I would like to know if for growing purposes will hydroponic lights work with corals? Thinking about the red colored since they are for growth of plants.

I wouldn't use the bulbs but there is no reason the fixture cant be used, but I have tried to do this before and they tend to rust out quickly

Do not use HPS/High Pressure Sodium (orange colored lighting)
Use only MH/Metal Halide (or a switchable ballast) and an appropriate K temp bulb. Horticulture MH bulbs are usually around 6500k which will grow coral but very little color.

I agree. You want to stay away from the all reds, go with the 6500k-6700k leds.

If they worked, EverGrow wouldn't be making different fixtures for aquariums because plant grow lights are their primary business. They sell tons of grow light fixtures to the plant nursery and greenhouse market.
