Is there a way to get the AI Nero to work with the Hydros WaveEngine? I'm looking for a low profile powerhead for some supplemental circulation at the bottom of my tank, and the only other option that would be less obtusive is a Maxspect gyre. Another option would be the H2Pro unit, but no word on compatability. Yes, I know the Ecotechs are possible, but they're just too pricey for me.

Unfortunately, you cannot run an AI Nero with Hydros stuff (including their wave engine) in any way (except switching pump on/off using a Hydros XP8 or Wi-fi power strip).

See their compatibility chart here:

As an owner of Hydros (soon to be installed) and Nero 3's I would love to see this change, but the way Neros are wired I just don't see it happening. There are lots of great DIY efforts with the Hydros stuff, but driving pumps is not an area where the DIY'er can do much.

Disclaimer: I have very little Hydros experience at this point, so would be happy if the more seasoned vetrans correct any of my possible mistakes.

Yeah, I checked the chart but was hoping some enterprising reefer may have found a solution. Anyone know if the H2Pro will work?

While I don't know from experience that it will not work, I would point out it is not listed as a direct-drive pump, and it does not appear to have any 0-10 V input to support analog drive from a third-party device. I do not think it will work with Hydros controllers or wave engine.

This Nero's use a software suite that's cloned with EcoTech's mobius thus no 'classic' options like 0-10v anymore :(
