I just got the Xp4 and xp8 and I guess need to make a collective. However, it wont let me saying. I am a bit confused on how this is done. I have the cables and one terminator on XP8 and other one on Xp4. No sure what is going on here or that I have to make a collective. How you power down if no status as well? Is there a way to do a factory reset so I can start all over?

I am not at home right now but I will reply again and go through the steps on creating a collective. There is more to it than just hooking them up with the command buss cable and terminators. You have to setup each controller in your account on the app if you have not already. It will also let you set them up to your wifi at that time. Once that is done you can create a collective. You will need to name each controller when you set them up. The collective will also need a name. You will also have to have one of the controllers selected when you create the collective. Then you will need to add the other one.

I am back home if you still need help with starting a collective. To start out can you select one of the controllers from the app or are they not there. They should be on the left menu. If you click on the three horizontal bars in upper left it will get you the left popup menu. Like below. In the area where mine say Aquarium Control Collective that would be the controller or collective you are in.

If you press that it will give you a list of the ones you have setup in your account if they are not in a collective. Mine are all in collectives so none of my controllers are listed here. Just my two collectives are listed. I believe if you do not have a controller selected you will also get a menu like below but instead of collectives you would have the controllers listed.

I switched collectives and then got the screen below since I am now in this collective. At the top under the collective name is the controllers listed on this status page which is for my Hex Tank.

If you have a controller in the list and selected one of them then click on the left menu again and press on the + sign in the upper right. This is the same as if you were adding a controller to your account. but instead you would select create collective on the page that comes up. Then follow the prompts to create your collective. once created the controller you had selected will be a member. All you have to do is click on the left menu again and click devices from the menu. There will be a list of controllers that are in the collective which will be the one at this time. There is a blue filled circle in the lower right corner with a + sign. Click it and choose the controller you want to add to the collective which it this case is the other controller. When adding a controller to a collective all settings will be erased unless it is the original member. I am not sure you have anything setup at this point. I hope this helps. Keep in mind things that require bluetooth to work will not work on the web app. Those would include the original setup for the controllers since communication with the controller is via bluetooth until it is setup to wifi. Also if you loose the internet the only way to communicate is via bluetooth but that also would require a mobile connection as well such as a phone. Since the device with the app still requires a internet connection for the app to work.
