Hydroxychloroquine sulfate (plaquenil) vs CP

Hi All,
Does anyone know if hydroxychloroquine sulfate can be used in place of CP? Structurally they appear to be very similar but I wanted to check with the experts.

If I read this correctly, according to The Advanced Aquarist, hydroxychloroquine sulfate (Plaquenil) is one of three "acceptable" forms of chloroquine. HERE's the reference.
