So I got a nice little two branch hydnophora frag from a local reefer a couple weeks ago. My question is he looks happy but pretty mushy the last two days, is this normal in growth for hydnophora? First pic is 3 days in the tank the second is this morning.

They will completely devour other corals with filaments. Always make sure there is space between them, when it gets big 6” of space will be needed in most cases. It looks good to me they grow pretty quick and will be very fluffy in a well fed tank since they are pretty much more like an lps coral.

all has been said, looks like a happy ,gonna double in no time to me stage

Thank you all, it’s a beautiful coral just never had one and not sure how they grow. I will definitely keep an eye on it’s proximity to other corals as it grows. It won’t sting me though correct?

it can in an open cut, burns like heck ,mostly all lps ,be aware
