I have decided to do a hypersalinity treatment on my foxface.

How long should I leave him in the qt tank with elevated salinity?

I have the qt at 1.034 78 degrees. He was drip acclimated for about an hour.

He has been the the qt for about two hours and already showing improvement.

His eyes were slightly cloudy and he was basically unresponsive to visual stimuli. I think because of this he has not been eating and has been swimming around bumping into everything.

He seems to be doing better. He is still showing no interest in food yet, but his eyes are more clear and he's not bouncing off of everything..

I still don't know how long he should stay in the hypersalinity qt.

His eyes are pretty clear now, but still isn't eating.

He seems to get more active when I put brine shrimp in the tank, but he can't seem to find it.

I could really use some advise here. #reefsquad

Things to consider for your foxface:

Could be flukes within the eyes. One particular species shows up there and a freshwater dip will inform you if indeed it is flukes effecting the eyes.

Could be an infection within the eyes. Treating the eyes with erythromycin is the best antibiotic to treat eye infections.

And it could be the flukes causing the infection within the eyes.

I've done two fresh water dips. Didn't seem to have any effect.

Seems my local PetSmart has API E.M. Erythromycin . Will pick it up in the AM.

Thanks
