Hypo for flukes?

Is hypo still an effective and accepted approach to eliminating flukes successfully? Am I safe doing 5 days at 1.009 or should I do 2x GC 5 days apart?
@Humblefish @HotRocks @4FordFamily @Big G
I haven’t used it successfully, I’ve opted for prazi and it’s worked for me. Others have had success using fenbendazole if that doesn’t work.

Humble says 30 days at 1.009

Thanks @Big G but is that not just for ich? In the pro section of that same article it states that 5 days at hypo treats flukes and their eggs.

The 5 days is correct for flukes and 30 days for most strains of ich. I've successfully used hypo for prazi resistant flukes and it worked very well when I couldn't get fenbendazole quickly, the part that you need to be careful about is if there's another parasite like velvet that you need copper to treat. Hypo can suppress velvet, brook, and uronema and you may not know you have it until you start to bring the fish out which has to be done slowly. Hypo makes copper very toxic, per humble, chelated copper is only safe at or above 1.017 sg and ionic copper is only safe at a normal salinity of at least 1.022 sg

Great and Thanks for the help. I have already treated with copper for ich/velvet and also with one round of formalin for Uronema so all that’s left is flukes now which I’m hoping hypo takes care of.

Did hypo not work to rid the flukes or Did you have other issues which caused it to be unsuccessful?
In my experience every time I use prazi or GC I get a huge bacterial bloom making the water really cloudy and the fish uncomfortable and tend to stop eating. Was just trying to avoid using any more chemicals if I can get hypo can work.

It worked for me. I had prazi resistance fluke in the past. I was at the point I was dosing prazi every other day for a month. It was helping, but didn’t eradicate the flukes. I was slowly losing fish and felt hopeless. I ran hypo at 1.009 for 7 days and killed all flukes. It really works!
