Hyposalinity duration and fallow period

Hello,
Been doing hypo for about 2 weeks now, how long do i run it for? Ive heard mixed days around the 30 range, but isn't the fallow period of some ich strains 72 days? Can fish survive hypo for that long?

The recommended period for hypo is 30 days. But be aware that there are hypo resistant ich parasites, rare, but they do exist. And hypo will suppress other parasites like velvet, brook, uronema. So it's really important to know that you are only dealing with marine ich when going hypo, as those other parasites will return.
Going hypo longer than 30 days is not advised. There can be long term damage to "some" fish. In particular their kidneys.
