Can ich be treated with hyposalinity in DT? Cycle completed a month ago, so it isn't an established system. Was still building up the cleanup crew, so there's few enough to be able to remove them before hypo. My thought is to put CUC in my reef and run that fallow. All fish would go in the newly cycled tank to treat with hypo. I'm concerned about cross-contamination, so want to treat all fish from both tanks.

Potential treatment tank is 75 gallon with 10 gallon sump. Live rock and sand, no corals and inverts will be removed. Fish are all juvenile. 2 clowns, a blue spot jawfish, a bristletooth tang, a six line wrasse, and a starry blenny. I'm not concerned with screwing up the cycle, I can test and manage water parameters during the process. I'm just not sure if treating hypo in DT with rock/sand will eradicate this hellish parasite.

Thoughts/advice?

Agreed. Hypo-resistant strains of ich and the difficulty in maintaining true hypo conditions is the reason it's not a favorite of mine.
