I currently have a fish tank that is four weeks deep in hypo salinity quarantine that is treating for ich.
I adopted another fish from the pet store that had ich and it is currently in a small quarantine tank.
My question is after the ich has dropped from the fish would I be safe to put that fish in the other tank that has almost finished the Hypo salinity cycle?
Would I have to restart the cycle again if I do so?
how long can fish stay in a Hypo Salinity water?
Let me know your thoughts, thanks!

Hyposalinity, like all ich treatments, requires vigilance and dedication. Have you kept your water at your desired readings (1.009 ppt, and measured with a properly-calibtated refractometer) for the entire time? Have top-ups maintained salinity levels precisely? If not, you might have suppressed ich (or flukes, for that matter) without eradicating it. And, yes, if you put another ich-infested fish in the tank, you're going to have to extend the process, as there's a likelihood that not all tomonts will drop off of the fish at the same time. This is the reason why many people prefer tank transfer methods, which are less stressful on fish and are timed to coincide with the ich cycle itself, which allows for greater success.

I don't know that many people keep their fish at 1.009 ppt for extended periods, as it's pretty stressful on the fish. That being said, I don't know if there are studies on effects of piscine physiology at, let's say, 30, 60, and 90 days. 30 days seems to be standard. And this is if pH is maintained at desirable levels.
