Does anyone currently use hypo in their QT process? I'm aware of the sticky'd links that detail how it's done but I'm curious if it's used much anymore? Everyone on R2R seems pretty intent on medicated QT and I'm curious why? Here in Canada they've gone and outlawed almost all fish medications. I've got one last bottle of Copper Power left but nothing else. All that's available are things like Ruby Reef Rally and the various things like KickIck, or herbal stuff. I'm struggling a bit on how to run a QT with the resources I have available and considering trying hypo with my next group of fish and keeping the copper as a backup in case I run into velvet in the future. Any thoughts from the pro's?

I'd love to hear from the experts here too - but I think Hypo can work just fine for SOME of the issues new fish may arrive with. A Rally bath and then hypo could be a nice combo.

I'm by no means an expert, but I run a 5-7 day hypo on all my new arrivals to treat for flukes and then raise the salinity and run copper or CP.
I think the new technique seems to be peroxide and TTM. I have yet to try it but looks promising.

No need to QT fish myself yet but I'm in the exact same predicament you're in and have been following the hybrid TTM with peroxide method closely. It will certainly be my method going forward as things seem promising

I haven’t heard of this hybrid peroxide/TTM method, will have to do some searching. I’m not a big fan of TTM in general just because I don’t have room for 2 tanks so have used 5 gallon pails when doing it. I will be stocking a 180g starting in a week or so and would like to be able to run at least 4-6 fish through QT at a time so pails won’t cut it. I have a 29g QT setup I’d like to use.
