if your system could be immune to any one pest/nuisance organism what would you pick?

You might want to rephrase that. But, I think I know what you're saying. I would choose scallops, but I'm not sure if they're pests.

Bacterial infections, but only because I've had a hard run of them lately and they are not always easy to treat :/

Ooooooh that's what they meant.. yeah, any disease

well, knock on wood my newly begun, solid QT will prevent it, but Aptasia! I had an outbreak of unbelievable proportions that I just could not get on top of in my previous 165, to the point I shut it down, and started all over in a newer, bigger tank.

There are some pretty wild lookin majanos out there--mistaked one for a colorful (yes, colorful) RBTA once. It was saddening, to say the very least.

Speaking of which, I lost my gramma a few minutes ago. The culprit was some bizarre disease that made him jump straight up and back down, totally vertical, out of the water several times, before proceeding to darken in color and lose its scales. Needless to say, I won't be having my appetite around anymore tonight. Eh, I digress.

I'm really sorry. Breaks my heart every time.

I had just gotten in a Tanakas Pygmy Possum Wrasse. And, well, bad choice.. I wasn't thinking straight. Small aquarium with gramma = intolerance of "invaders" to its territory. So, I had to choose between one--course, given the chance, I would have put the mean thing up for adoption. But I wouldn't, cause of his disease which isn't a stroke of luck, cause that would just be wrong to say, but more of an ironic scenario. But thanks for the sentiment! It was a beautiful fish.
Here's a photo of the little guy, (and don't we all know my skills of photography (or lack thereof) will be the death of me):

Ugh, I'm sorry. That is bizzare, just keep an eye on the other guys.

Godzilla Larvae.
