Awesome vid! I love jawfishes too, easily one of my favorite fish.

Did you purchase them paired or paired them after adding? Far as I know they are impossible to sex.

Yes very difficult to pair. The LFS gets them in 3 at a time and we tried for 3 weeks to find 2 that stayed together. Not 100% sure they are male/female I'll have to wait and see if the spawn.

I love Jawfish and would have a bunch if I could! I have one Blue Spotted jawfish that is my grand daughters favorite fish.

love these fish! we had one but he didnt survive the move sadly..... how deep is your sand bed?? ours was 6" but just didnt seem to wanna built a new home after we moved... im hoping to try some again once we move into our new house and set up a 75gal for them

About 4" how I introduce jawfishes is find a spot where I want them, mix some aggregate into the spot (because I have fine sand) dig a hole and place a flat rock on top. The when adding the jawfish to the tank cup them with my hand or net and place them next to the opening. They go in hide for a little or go right ahead and start making a home for themselves.
Even with just 4" of sand bed I've never seen them dig all the way trough it to the glass.

Depending on the fish it would get spooked when lights go off/on so then just net them and take them over to the hole.

I absolutely detest seeing jawfish in the PVC home ppl make for them. Soo un natural.
