Ok not sure how to pose this question? I have a yellow mimic tang and two clowfish in a QT tank.

Currently there is no medication in the QT, but I had been treating them for what I'm pretty sure is velvet for the last 12 weeks with CP.

They all looked well after the treatment and three weeks back I converted from Hospital to QT for observation in the same tank. Just running carbon and water change to remove the medication.

Last week I did one feeding with API General Cure soaked with Focus just as a prophylactic treatment since I have them in QT. All the fish ate the food.

Noticed this week that the tang has some brown ring like marks on the body. Also fins were getting torn. Breathing was mostly normal except when eating where it seemed to breath a bit more heavily, but it was eating fine and taking the nori.

I was thinking maybe the treating for velvet was unsuccessful, but I now not sure. I was noticing some aggression from the clownfish towards the tang, and I put it off as due to the cramp living conditions (20 L). So today I decided to rearrange the pipes that I put in for them to hide to see if that would help.

I noticed that even after that the clowfish were pretty agitated and kept giving me a weird look. Something clicked and I started looking around the pipes and found this....

Clownfish fry....

So the clownfish had nested (Never did before) in the QT tank and was probably attacking the tang.

Problem is I'm not totally sure if the marks on the tang are from the aggression or if there is a resurgence of the velvet.

Best pic I could get of the tang....

I'm thinking I need to move the tang out to stop the aggression otherwise the tang is going to be in trouble. But I don't have another QT tank that will fit this guy. My other QT is a 10g

Wondering if I should put him back into the DT? The marks are in two ring like spots near the center of the body, and towards the back near the defensive spine, and are brownish in color.

Now that I have some context, it does look a bit like bite scrapes...

I don't have enough experience to tell what else it might be? Any opinions would be appreciated?

Problem is I don't have anymore open space to fit another tank. The QT is already in the dresser in the master bedroom, and another tank will probably mean I have to sleep in the garage...

I'm not an expert, but I hear velvet attacks quickly, so why are they still in qt after 3 months? I'd move the tang to the display, this looks like typical clownfish aggression.

I was keeping the DT fallow for the ich cycle in case I misdiagnosed. Was getting ready to transfer them back into the DT after the General Cure treatment.

Moving their nest must have ticked them off big time. They keep going after the tang now.

I'll probably have a to make a call pretty soon. The tang is holding it own for now, but both clowns are going after it now and it's pretty stressed.

They won’t let up given the circumstances. You need to find some way to separate them.

For now I made a separator using egg crate, not a long term solution but gives the tang some respite.

I definately have to re-home the tang. The clowns are cleaning up wreck that I made and looks like they are prepping a new nest. Although the male seems to be still fanning the existing eggs.

I’m surprised that with all the medications they had, plus the less then ideal water conditions and living quarters they still managed to nest.

You had them I'm CP for 12 weeks? 30 days generally does the trick. Where did you obtain the CP? Someone that required a vet provided RX, or other?

No, it was from that auction site. Was not able to get Pharm grade as it needs an RX.

Treated the fish anyways as I had a leopard wrasse being treated also, and did not want to go with copper (It did not make it), and did not think I had time to ramp up the copper.

I continued the medication as the fishes were doing well with it in the system, and the DT was still going fallow.
