Thanks, some of them are Asian acans which are a little different then the normal lords. The heads get a lot bigger and puffier. As far as names some had them when I got them but often after they are sold you won’t find them anymore because people don’t tend to grow them out to sell because they grow slow. The micro acans grow fast. And people farm thoseThese are awesome. I have to get a few of these for my tank! Can you name a few?
Nitrate 1-3, phosphate 0.02-0.1, calcium 450-480, KN 7-8, magnesium 1300-1350. With these parameters, I feed 1-2 times a week. In my observation, they prefer the bluer spectrum. For those of you with thriving acans, what are your water parameters? Asking for a friend...![]()

The few you may be able to find is the
Holy grail micro, calikids fruit loops micro and maybe the Mardi Gras lord.(the green and yellow with purple mouth)

I shall. And I will return to this thread with the Acans.
Im glad I’m not the only one that’s got the itch! Any recommendations for where to purchase attractive but reasonably priced specimens?? #reefinonabudget
Akanas from Australia are very beautiful, but more capricious. Indonesia generally armor piercingCool! Thanks for the info.
I’m just down the road from their new store in Winter Park so I try to get most things from them. I guess Ill just have to go in there more often to find some awesome ones, darn... lol.Im glad I’m not the only one that’s got the itch! I'm up in Longwood - good thing it's farther than a walk or I'd be broke by now. The main store down by Sea World has an even better selection (and sometimes a $5 frag bin toward the back!).I’m just down the road from their new store in Winter Park so I try to get most things from them. Yes, you can grow acans of the same species next to each other. For example if you place acanthastrea echinata next to acanthastrea lordhowensis, one will kill the other.I think these are my new favorite coral, just picked up my 1st one. Seen many pics of people growing these together. These don't do any type of chemical warfare or damage to each other if placed together?
Wow,this realy complicates things. Suppose there is no easy way to identify each species to know which is which.Yes, you can grow acans of the same species next to each other. For example if you place acanthastrea echinata next to acanthastrea lordhowensis, one will kill the other.
