A UV with slow flow will help kill some of the free swimming ICH before they can find a host. If you don't have corals in the tank you can lower the salinity in the tank which will also kill them. Of I recall you want it to be below 1,019.

its a well stocked reef tank, I have a sick tank set up and cycled but the Ick has not returned. I am in a holding pattern waiting to see what happens

It is very likely to come back much worse. Have you had a big temp swing or any other event that would cause the fish to be stressed? If you did and solved the issue it may not come back to badly. Reducing the salinity a little will make it easier for the fish to fight the ICH off.

I am sorry to hear this. I had a massive die off when I moved tanks and one fish I had14 years. Very hard to see it happen.
I do not cycle qts if only for fish. No need. Just make sure to get good air exchange, watch ammonia (I use Seachem badges) and keep prime on hand. Then use whichever method you want to treat.

I am a big believer that fish get Ich when they get stressed. Fish get stressed when they don't get enough food. Feed heavy with a good variety of frozen food. Make sure they are fat and happy and they will be fine. I have 5 tangs in my tank including an Achilles. They have all been there a long time and did not go through quarantine. I added them all at the same time and fed a lot from day one.

Well I got a good and bad news update. The good news my clown fish have laid eggs for the first time! Bad news I see a spot of ick on a fish.
So now what? Set up another tank for the clowns...the eggs are on a mushroom coral

Also I have a mandarin fish what do I do with him? Separate tank and treat the mandarin for ick?

I added a bunch of new corals, I’m guessing the ick came in on them
