I must have missed an earlier post, what happened?

Nothing really happened. I have had red slime covering everything for a year and could not get rid of it. Finally I tried Chemiclean and in about 10 days the red slime was gone with no physical removal. It just evaporated.

Nice

Don’t toss away that lil bottle there’s a chance it will comeback, I’ve used chemiclean 3 times so far in my tank def thankful for it

It took at least a werk for it to stop. Also as a side note I can give a long term update. After the red stuff died, long green air algae took it’s place and I am just now starting to get it under control. Also the red stuff made an appearance a few days ago so I am watching that.

I don't know why but I get Cyano around the Spring time of the year. If I leave it it will usually go away in a month or two on it's own, but I do a round of Chemiclean and it's gone within a week.

When does the skimmer stop going crazy?
I've sped up the process by sitting next to the skimmer and dumping the cup when it gets filled and adding fresh mixed water as the level goes down. Doing this I was able to get the skimmer working properly faster. The time it takes to get it working can vary though, as short as 20 min. or as long as an hour.

I did a 20% water change Sunday evening and added new carbon this evening around dinner. Still going crazy. Hoping by am it will go back to normal skimming.
