Hi everyone, pretty new to R2R, love all of the feedback ive been getting from you guys, here's another one i'm not sure about,
I've heard around that the yellow stuff growing on tanks is diatom algae, I also heard its not a nuisance it just looks ugly? I'm using tap with conditioner, which I know provides silicates for them, I really do need to order an ro/di system. Even with using tap, will it go away eventually or do I have to eliminate silicates for the diatoms to disappear?

You have to eliminate silicates for them to completely go away. Adding fresh silicates gives them a continual food supply.
Thats what I figured, I'll get right on that RO/DI system then, Thanks!
