I believe this is a bacteria?

Just got back from a 3 month trip.. had a friends looking after the tank..and first thing I noticed, when looking at the tank is this white bacterial/algae . tested the tank and everything appears to be within tolerance.The tank is 2 1/2 years old

Now I’m not sure how to get rid of it? Will something eat it or do I have to take out the rock and scrape it off , or bleach it to kill this stuff

The rocks and sand look almost too clean for a 2+ year old aquarium. I mention this because clean surfaces can grow all sorts of things. My bet for the white hair is some sort of alga.

Yeah, I'd guess the hair-like stuff is an algae, possibly like Chrysocystis fragilis or Chrysophaeum taylorii.

toothbrush and scrub off, catching and removing the debris as best as possible
