The breakdown: Browsing buy and sell sites at 11:30 pm, See a guy selling his 90 gallon that's still filled because his landlord says no large tanks upstairs. He's asking $175, I message him and he says come get it right now. I get over there around 12:30 pm, the guy is super nice, shows me his new redsea setup he bought. I look over the tank and here is what I see.

It holds water, it's an all glass brand 90 gallon, center brace is broken, drilled in left hand rear corner with overflow, will post pics later today.

Nice hardwood stand and canopy painted black.

45 gallon everclear wet/dry sump, stacked with bioballs and a protein skimmer, 2 hydor 200w heaters in the sump.

3 buckets of what was once live rock, extra siphons, bucket of sand/crushed coral, air pump, extra polishing pads.

Reef light (Unknown brand, will post pic), Aquaticlife 48 inch reno wifi light (anyone know anything about these?), marineland 48 inch led with built in timer, aqueon 48 inch led light, 3 extra reef brite branded bulbs.

I am resealing the tank and ordered a replacement top frame, but want to water test the plumbing and possibly redo it for a peace of mind, I've never had external filtration so this is all new to me. How does the plumbing look in the pics?

Can anyone make any suggestions/recommendations or what you would change?

I talked him down to $140, did I do okay?

Sounds like a good deal - pics?

For what you paid + some elbow grease, I'd say you got a heck of a deal.

Thanks, I thought so as well. I don't mind doing the work, am actually excited to learn about plumbing and all that.

A new adventure. Make sure you do a build thread, I'm always curious to see each persons build progression.
