I bought this coral, but....

Carbon dosing is the last resort option if I find things don't handle the high nutrients. I appreciate the advice. It is also interesting that live aquaria labels it as an LPS. It definitely has the structure and polyp types as an SPS.
Carbon dosing is easier than most people think. I've vodka dosed my tank for years. It's very easy and my nitrates always are near zero even with heavy feeding. I also have a big marine pure block in my sump, which I swear by.
 
I would try to trade that frag for a birds nest or stylo. Much friendlier and if those grow you can move on to other sticks. Be careful though. I never liked sticks and now I have 60-70 of them. I have a problem.

I like this guy[emoji6] Maybe in the future I will move on. But for now I am enjoying something new living.
