I know a lot but have learned most by trial and error don't know the professional names like that, I guess

What are palys maybe I'm not knowing what that is

The green coral polyps under "the blob". they look like green flowers almost (that's what my friends call all my zoas and pallys)

Oh ok those are there the brown ones but I don't know what kind they are.....I also have some green ones lol now I feel silly for not understanding hahaha

lol. It's alright. We've all been there... me more than most.

Lol ok that's what I said now I know the professional name to them you know we only have two saltwater stores in Fresno cali, and they are not so helpful when you have questions so I had to learn a lot on my own....and you can imagine that cost me a penny or two overtime lol that's why I really like this group I have learned a few things in such a short time on here

Lol thank you, we only have two saltwater pet stores here in Fresno ca, and they are not very helpful when you have questions that's why I'm glad I've joined this group I have learned a lot and have gotten a lot of good ideas in such a short time

The palys in the picture are what are commonly referred to as Texas trash. They're a very toxic paly that will spread like wildfire.

What makes them toxic just cause they spread very quickly or do they kill things

They cary a toxin called "palytoxin" that can make you very sick if it gets on your hands, in your face ect. They do spread quickly but that's not what makes them toxic, it makes them annoying if they spread over a favorite coral. lol

Wash your hands after putting them in the tank and don't mess with those palys without gloves and eye protection at a minimum.
