Well huge bozo move. I’m in the process of moving 2 clowns abd an orchid dottyback to my display. I had a live rock I wanted to dip. Don’t ask. I put it in a one gallon bucket with coral rx. After a min what do I see?? My dottyback swimming in the dip. I got her out and put her in the Display. Anyone done this before ? She doesn’t look to good

Lets keep our fingers crossed. Keep us updated.

I went online to see whats in it, but they keep the active ingredient a secret....
Hope it works out well....

Hey everyone so. Not only did I get a bunch of bristle worms out of my rock I got Violet my dottyback. She was stressed as she should be. Went from her home in the 13.5. To the 66 gallon display. She at ina. Corner hard to tell if she was dying or stressed or both. However I left her alone. She seemed to chill breathing a tad more but not bad. After about an hour she realized her home was in the. We tank abs she went to it. I was optimistic she would. Be ok. After a while she stated coming out looking well. I put the first feeding of frozen brine in and she and my clowns fed well. I’m very optimistic although this was a huge mistake on my part. Everything is look good so far and even though I’m not religious. Thank god! This worked out. Please don’t do what I did and accidentally dip a fish. Thanks for the support!

Copper is poisonous as well. My violet seems to be adapting well to her new tank. Will update in the morning. Thanks again everyone. I’m sure this is a rare occurrence

Yikes. When I moved tanks (like moving tank to a new house) I accidentally moved my gold Midas in a rock. At least I assume so - I never saw it during the move at all and wondered if I lost it, but sure enough it came out of the rock in the new tank eventually...

The active ingredient of CoralRx is lavender oil from the plant species Lavandula hybrid, which is poisonous (see: https://www.baua.de/DE/Biozid-Melde...tails_node.html?idUser=258610&idProdukt=86290). Lavender oil is a mixture of >100 compounds, mostly terpenes (see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lavender_oil).
Thanks - the EU has stricter standards for listing chemical formulas I guess (grin). "Poisonous" is all about dose, right? Technically water is poisonous to humans if you drink too much of it. I don't like the idea though, that it is a mixture of so many terpenes - those all can't be traced and understood I think.

Update. Thanks for everyone’s concern. My dottyback is doing awesome. Loves her new tank. I basically moved her exact habitat over so she’s right at home
