Hi all,

When I introduced some chaeto to my sump, I started seeing copepods on my display glass. I've never seen it before the chaeto. In addition to that, I bought a bunch more copepods to populate my tank just in case what I saw initially wasn't actually copepods. I introduced a mandarin 2 weeks later (a few days ago).

This whole time, every inch of my glass is covered with the small white bugs. I've never seen them anywhere else but the glass. I've read people seeing their sand covered with, moving almost in a fluid motion. Or when they shine a light on their rocks, they scatter everywhere. Or that when they feed, when the food lands, the copepods moves come to grab and move the food around. I've never seen any of these things.

My mandarin picks at the rocks when the lights are on maybe once every 45 seconds or so. All my rocks and sand are all really clean and free of algae, I can't see when he's picking at, maybe at nothing. I don't know.

Is all this normal? Do I have copepods everywhere and I just can't see it except on the glass?

Thanks

They’ll find em on the glass too. And yes , you have more every where.

I think they like the glass cuz of the tiny algae that grows there.
