My nitrates and phospates have always been undetectable.. I was using bio reactor but stopped that many months ago...

As of two weeks ago: I decreased my chaeto light to just 3 hours day, and I turned off the skimmer and haven't done a water change in a month. I also leave the filter sock in the holder last 2 weeks.

I've been dosing every day Red Sea Energy Aminos A and B with 5x the recommended. Nitrates has not moved an inch.. still 0.

What else can I do?

Potassium nitrate works great...it's like $3 for a bag that will last you a life time.

Just mix it up and put it into a bottle like I have labeled here.

Also what test kits are you using? If you are feeding a lot more and coral look good you may want to crosscheck with another kit.

If you start dosing nitrate you really need to get some detectable PO4.

Not really. Algae grows on my algae scrubber where I want it to grow.

I tried stump remover and was able to increase nitrate to 1ppm but overnight it always drops back to 0. I repeated it a few times. My carpet haddoni hates it. Immediately he started moving around and appears he may dis-mount to "get away".

Anyone have issues with thier anemones and increasing nitrates?

Maybe this is an issue with the potassium ?

It is pretty typical to have the first few doses come back to zero after 24 hrs. Eventually things will level out just keep testing 24 hrs after every dose. I think the amount of potassium is relatively minimal for a small dose. You may want to consider dosing less maybe cut it in half to see if the anemone responds the same...
