I thought my alk test kits were bad because it looked like a few acros had burnt tips, then I thought I had aefw because some had small bites of flesh missing, then I actually witnessed it. This thing was pulling off polyps/breaking off coralites and eating them. It was also taking chunks of the flesh itself. I know emerald crabs rarely dabble on lps or softies but had no idea they were acro assassins. I feed heavy 3-4x/day and there is algae in the tank so it's not because this thing is starving. Lesson learned......

I guess you need to get a new one. I just bought 2 for the first time to see if it will help my bubble algae problem. Hopefully mine behaves.

I have 2, neither eat bubble algae (that I've seen), which is why I got them. I only have a very small patch but they have been in my tank for a month. Good luck

I have never had any luck with Emerald crabs eating bubble algae. Have tried several times over the years with no luck. I have also seen them eating coral. Never at grows, always LPS or softies.
