I did it I caved into getting Hanna Checkers excited for the re-release of the Magnesium one I’ll definitely be getting that one too! Does anyone need any Salifert test kits or a refractometer etc.? I will be listing some things in the marketplace.

I absolutely love the checkers and they are my go-to...but I kept my old school test kits as a backup Incase I see something wonky. Just a thought.I did it I caved into getting Hanna Checkers excited for the re-release of the Magnesium one I’ll definitely be getting that one too! User friendly and trustworthy is the best I can say about them. You didnt cave- just made a wise decision.I did it I caved into getting Hanna Checkers excited for the re-release of the Magnesium one I’ll definitely be getting that one too! Keep the sailfert kits as a backup and definitely keep the refractometer. I calibrate my icecap refractometer often enough, but I always want something to cross check salinityI did it I caved into getting Hanna Checkers excited for the re-release of the Magnesium one I’ll definitely be getting that one too! I have my Apex and Hanna Salinity Checker!Keep the sailfert kits as a backup and definitely keep the refractometer. I calibrate my icecap refractometer often enough, but I always want something to cross check salinity
Wouldn't trust either one 100%.I have my Apex and Hanna Salinity Checker!
Well no not the Apex but I did get a solution to that this! I’m hoping it works.Wouldn't trust either one 100%.
Whatever works for you... I still suggest not to use the apex as a single primary point for salinity checking or any electronic salinity tester for that matter. They tend to drift on calibration, bad.Well no not the Apex but I did get a solution to that this! I’m hoping it works.![]()
I noticed that lol it doesn’t replace measuring salinity by hand but I do hope the little advice I got helps.Whatever works for you... tropic marine hydrometer outcompetes all refractometers. i would never go back to a refractometer to be honest!I noticed that lol it doesn’t replace measuring salinity by hand but I do hope the little advice I got helps.
Oh and I do have a hydrometer too lol. I know they are haha.tropic marine hydrometer outcompetes all refractometers. i would never go back to a refractometer to be honest!
Besides that, how are you going to test your newly made water without a hand held unit of some kind?Whatever works for you... I still suggest not to use the apex as a single primary point for salinity checking or any electronic salinity tester for that matter. They tend to drift on calibration, bad.
I buy water from my LFS and I have a Hanna Checker and Hydrometer.Besides that, how are you going to test your newly made water without a hand held unit of some kind?
Forgot to mention I have a hydrometer too lol.Whatever works for you... I still suggest not to use the apex as a single primary point for salinity checking or any electronic salinity tester for that matter. They tend to drift on calibration, bad.
It’s just the reagent and it’s currently in the process of being made so it’s supposed to be around 6-8 weeks. Meaning all currently available Magnesium checkers have the bad reagents but the checker is fine.Love Hanna checkers. Are they re-releasing the Magnesium Checker - heard it read high?
