I.D a couple photos please!

Evening #reefsquad

-Photo 1&2. Hiding under a split in zoa frag, I've seen it stretch nearly 1-1.5" away from plug, sways in the flow of water? Wonder why zoas were irritated and not opening.

-Photo 3&4. Found him attached to underside of egg crate. Also looked like it was swaying around.

Running my coral QT fishless to irradiate any future issues. But seeing many critters that may usually been taken care of by fish.

What am I looking at?

zoa eating nudibranch it seems like

i know photo looks maybe similar. But when i first notice it, it looked like a sweeper that extended 1/4" to 1/2" below egg crate.

First one may be a tiny tube worm. Looks like there's an orifice at the tip.
Second one I have no idea. If it doesn't crawl around on it's own, it's not a nudi.

Are tube worms good or bad, noticed last few days that zoa hadnt opened.

No sure about nudi or not. I just though was weird it protruded further than I'd though past the egg crate. Couple more photos, and I just noticed it tonight. Also attached another photo, flatworm for that one?

If it is a nudi, what my course of action considering its currently a fishless system?

Tube worms are fine. Doesn't look like a vermetid snail tube, those you want to get rid of.
Not sure what that new picture is. Might be a flatworm. If you touch it and it's hard, maybe a chiton.

only noticed one. looked like it extended below egg crate and swaying. but in last three days two jf acid relux mini colonies look like their melting. and a monti that is starting rtn by the looks of it. maybe it time to throw a wrasse in. or watch at night more and get more photos.

The tubes look like tube worms. They are harmless, but if you don’t want them, just put a dab of superglue over the end.

Not sure on the sort of Nudi looking thing.

yep, good read that artical is. read through after KJ I.D another photo i shared. I saw the nudi photos, but nothing with sphere shapes. Unlike photo above, unless im seeing things.

I tried getting it alive, but had a good hold on the underside of egg crate. Tried sucking up with siphon and had a firm hold. Prior to trying to get it out. I turned off all flow to make certain. And it was waving around it seemed like

Check out the nudibranch genus eubranchus.
Some similarly weird body shapes there.

Yeah a good wrasse and some flatworm exit for good measure should do you some good my friend. If you go the flatworm exit put some freah carbon those little buggers are toxic. As well as checking once lights are off to either pick any off or glue where eggs might be. Hope you dont lose anything else.

Looks like an Acropora eating flat worm to me.
Always dip your frags and quarantine fish....save you hastle in long run.
Flat worm exit, siphan , water change and activated carbon on hand to run after you nuke your tank

What the. I swear this hobby is amazing. That bottom photoed creature has to be the most alien looking thing I've seen yet in the hobby. No idea what it is, but it's not a typical zoanthid eating nudi that's for sure. The top looks to be some type of hydroid, would need a more defined look at what's inside the white tube to positively ID that. But man that white slug is creepy!

@Bob Loblaw any ideas for ID.

Best guess would be something in Suborder Dendronotina. Likely genus Doto as their rhinophores tend to be circular clusters near the tail but I've never seen one that looks exactly like the picture. Dotidaes shouldn't bother coral.
