Hi everyone.
I got this hitchhiker (zoa?) On some rock and it's now growing really fast. Does anyone know what it is and would it be safe to pick it off the rock like xenia.
Thanks

You can remove them but take precautions as some have palytoxin which can make you and your tank sick.

You'd want to remove the rock from the tank and then scrape them off the rock (wear gloves and eye protection). Rinse the rock off good with some salt water and return the rock to the tank.

Hi Spieg
Could I put a coral hammer/hydnopharnia in its way to block the spread.
Cheers pal

Not sure who would win in that fight. I know that monipora cap will usually grow over and shade out zoas until they die off.
