I have a 55 gallon tank. Going though a rough time, my parameters have been in check.(alk 9. Cal 400. Mag 1300. PH 8.4. Phos 0.06. Sal 34-35. Nitrates 5-10.) My phosphates were high, had a GHA bloom which is controlled now but not cured. But I've been loosing some corals. Torch, hammer, dragon soul Favia, Kenya tree, and my Coco worm shed his crowns, but they are regrowing. yes, I'm feeding them. Roids, coral energy, Phyto.
On the other hand my birds nest, toadstool, plate coral, mushies, Duncan's are all thriving and growing. My LFS said it sounds like something may be eating them. Like a pest. So I looked closer at my corals and found two vermetid snails in the tank so far (one on what's left of the dragon soul and the other on the montipora). And I noticed the other side of my montipora looking like this.
Could someone tell me what I'm dealing with?
Maybe what I should be watching for?
How to kill those vermetid snails? I assume glue?
Should I just dip all of the corals in the tank?
I do have a QT tank set up.
Sorry for the story book. Thank you for your time.
