some kind of clam maybe. Found him in the same area I'm missing some shrooms.

No such thing as a bad clam. No real benefit either. As long as there is enough food in the water it'll live if you like it.

Looks like a bivalve to me, I could not say what kind,they are filter feeders( I would keep it)
