So this was a hitchhiker SCORE from one of the LR I got. It has survived my cycle so far but not as full as it once was. At first I thought it was purple ricordia but still not sure. Anyways I notice today while doing our water change, that it now has little green spikes growing on it. How exciting. I'm hoping this is new growth but also have no idea what kind lol sorry about the sand on it, it fell off the rock during water change and the green algae, we are still in cycle stages. Here is before and now. Sorry they upload sideways???

Just knowing that it's sprouting these thing during our cycle has got me soooo excited knowing everything is going so well ALL ON IT'S OWN!!!

Green star polyps, you won't kill these even if you tired. I actually thought mine were dead as all the polyp nubs disappeared for about 4 months and they are all of a sudden opening again lol

try not to add too many coral. Cause your still cycling your tank. you dont want to add any live Creatures to your tank and them not make it. dont forget they are living! Try to almsot make sure you do your homework on the critters and fish and coral before you add to your tank. This is always a good place to ask questions as well as google. Hope all goes good.

GSP it deff is. Nice score.

Rob&gab I haven't added anything yet. This has been in my tank since day 1. It came with a piece of LR. But because there was nowhere for me to put it in the meantime and the guy at the LFS knew I was just starting out, I figured it was just a part of the rock till I started reading more. Then thought it was purple ricordia but still not sure. I won't be adding anything for at least a week or two. My parameters are 0,0, and 5-10ppm for nitrates ph of 8.4. Diatoms almost gone too but still there
