It is in favia family. A bit small to tell exact sub. It could be something in the platygyra area also called maze coral. Brain coral name was used for maze corals. Until brain coral was a genetic term for different families of corals. That looked nothing like a brain.

The chalice, below it, the general term chalice may be all you will get on it. Chalice is a broad term for dozens of species. Very hard to tell the family.

So I found out the name of one of the corals as a dragons soul favia, can anyone I.D. The chalice

Does not look like dragon soul favia. Dragon soul favia is another name for prism favia.

I understand that but I look at my frag in various types of lighting daily. It's to dark of a purple and doesn't have the pinkish color.

Lighting makes a big difference in appearance
This is true, but it has no resemblance to a prism favia. Not that the exact favia family is important in care since they are about the same. The polyps are completely different than the prism favia group. Favias are low light so lighting will not vary your piece much differently. I had one very much like yours. It may get some greenish overlay on the outer coralite ring area. If given a bit more light, but not too much.

It looks more like something in the platygyra family which is still in the overall favia family. Prism favias have been popular for a long time. Fragged as often as a war favia. Pretty much anyone in the hobby for awhile will have/had one.

It's grown another eye since putting it in around a month and a half ago. The greenish overlay is pretty much all around the outer coralite ring now. It's going to be a very fast growing coral
