Just posting my excitement. Finally got my apex with lots of add ons while on sale. Currently doing my first auto water change. Have had trident testing all day learning much more about how my tank uses cal and alk. I’ve been waiting foe this day for so long. Especially over the last month when I ruptured a disc and can’t drag my waste water bin outside to empty it out anymore. I did it a few times actually but at great cost to my back health. I’ve gotta get some longer tubes to set it up better but it’s still amazing.

thanks for listening and enjoying my happy moment with me

I'm so happy for you. I only bought an apex about 6 months ago, and since then I swear buying more modules and equipment for it has became an addiction.
Yeah. It’s gonna be for me too. I’ve not set up everything I have yet but it seems like tons of fun. And the trident has already confirmed a few things for me that I suspected I was doing wrong. I’m glad to have lots of hours of playing around with this ahead of me

I now can't imagine having a tank without an apex/trident/dos combo. My only real complaint is how finicky the salinity probe is.

Yeah. Can’t get that probe to work either. Would be nice if it did. But that can’t take me out of my good mood
They key is to get all of the air bubble out of it and try to make sure no more get into it. Mine works most of the time, but everytime it drops to something ridiculously low and sends me an alert there is that panicked moment until I realize it's just the probe messing up.

Idk but probably. There is also this that is supposed to help.
I've 3d printed a diy version but I haven't taken the time to install it yet.

I think I ran j to a post somewhere here might have been kinda old that said salinity probe needs some flow to work best. The tank I have tbis hooked up to is a AIO where it’s really impossible to find a place with any real flow past the probes. Water moved last but not really a flow. I wonder if that would help. When I have automation on my bigger tank maybe I’ll see. But this one is older and established so I’m using it here first.

What’s your guy’s opinion on the Hydro? I’ve been looking into that as well as the apex.
If I had to choose a controller it would be GHL, I've heard nothing but great things about hardware, but I've also heard it has a steep learning curve as far as setup and things of that nature, it requires reading instead of iconography. Their KHDirector and IonDirector are better than the trident/dos combo, on par or better than the mastertronic/alkatronic/dostronic and cheaper than those 3 to boot. Plus I like GHL's lighting better than the options for Apex/Coralvue. Having not used any of them, my opinion is based solely on reading and data gathering.
