. My maroon clownfish is curious. We are hoping that he host it.

That is a condy. They do not naturally host clown fish so it is uncertain if yours will take to it.

Yup Condy, as stated they do not host clowns in the wild but some clowns will take to them eventually.

Congratulations on your first anemone, they are beautiful and fascinating. :-)

I feel cheated by my lfs. I was told that my maroon clown would totally be fine with this anenome.

Time to have a conversation with your LFS.

Believe it or not this is the first time i have even dealt with this store. Is outta my way and i thought they were truly genuine as far as knowledge. They have beautiful fish and corals at great prices. Maybe i need more education before i purchase. But every time i start to do research on something o like they sell it from under me and then it's months before i see it again

It's not hopeless the Maroon may take to it, no guarantees though.

Condys' come from the Caribbean and W. Atlantic, they are not a natural host for clowns and they pack strong sting. They will sting and eat fish that come into contact with their tentacles.

I have witnessed Maroons, Clarkii, Tomato Clowns, and Domino Damsels residing in them. It may take more time for the clowns to acclimate to the sting of the anemone but some Clownfish and the Domino Damsels seem to do fine once acclimated to the anemone.

Is it possible to pay for something and have them hold it at the store if you aren't sure it will work? I know it sucks to feel like you are missing out, but I also know based upon your post about your missing fish that you would feel even worse if your purchase ended up killing your fish. :(

Well if you see something at the store, break out your phone and google it while you are there. You can get its basic care requirements and compatibility with 5 mins of research.
