We had Aquashella here over the Halloween weekend. I went on Saturday morning and picked up probably a dozen or so corals including several shrooms. Floated them and then put them where I wanted them. Fast forward 3 weeks and I was near one of our really nice LFS so I stopped in and bought a couple of coral. I floated them and they all ended up behind the outlet to my hob skimmer. When I grabbed the last bag I noticed it was really slimy. I then realized this wasn't one I had just bought, it was a bag I had missed from the ones I had bought 3 weeks ago at Aquashella. I looked in the bag and noticed it was a shroom and it was still alive. I took it out of the bag and put it on the bottom of my tank. It was really shriveled up so I couldn't really tell if it had lost any color. Next day it was siting on the frag plug like it had been in the tank for weeks and from what I could tell it hadn't lost any of its color.

They are die hards. A little ironic but I’m not surprised.

Roaches of the reef world.

My whole tank melted in a heat wave in 2002. I recycled every rock. A few months later or maybe a year, a single green striped mushroom emerged. They are still with me almost 20 years later.

My brown palys were tougher....they just bleached out with the heat. I kept them going as well.
