I'm still learning and amazed who will win coral wars. As my Leptos's encrust the rocks I see some long tentacles that worry me. Will my lepto's sting/kill my green acro ? I didn't know Lepto's were such fighters.

You may want to relocate your acro, because yes, they will start fighting for space :)

I had a JF Jack-O-Lantern that grew into an acro frag and while it's far from what you'll see LPS do, it did start to kill the leading edge of the acro and grow into. I moved the acro and it recovered just fine but it's certainly something to watch for.

For reallllll :( ugh!! Just when everyone looked happy
Eventually your Blasto's will creep up on your acro as well. So good idea to move him now while he's still small :)

Could I just trim the lepto's with a blade as they approach? I'm already trimming my Hollywood stunner which seems to take it just fine.

The Blasto stinging a little already and the acro is now growing away from the blasto versus towards it. I guess the blasto could be a long term problem though

question

why does your live rock appear to have coralline so thick it dripped over the edge mauna leia style I did not google how to really spell that

why is the live rock so pristine and full of coralline power whats the deal with that lr.

I'm still learning
Beautiful coral for the still learning stage, well done. As others said, relocate the coral. You'll find that you'll relocate coral all the time as you learn what battles with what and what becomes the victor.

I'd love to see a front tank shot.

Thanks, it's been an interesting road. I'm just about confident enough to upgrade and use all the info I have now to start a new system. Here's the full shot, currently dealing with an algae issue that recently started and I'm hoping is just cyano from too much ambient lighting.

I saw a tank 15 years ago covered in Purple and remember asking what he used to get such bright purple colors and he said "Purple Up" by Carib Sea. I don't use it any more, I've since switched to Coral Up and Coral Up B(also CaribSea) for 2 part dose, that's it. I'm a firm believer that Purple up jump started the colors you see now on my rock. I dose some other elements splash here, splash there method and really quite amazed I still have corals growing lol.

Well this didn't go as planned. The Gold lepto killed the Green completely. I'm actually worried about the Fuchsia colored one now. I have a Jack'o and Hulk together living together fine now however the Jack'o killed half the Hulk and then the Hulk stopped dying and now they grow side by side fine. I thought the same would happen with all 3 of these but the whole coral died off. I'm thinking the Fuchsia Lepto and Gold double teamed the green.

What are your experiences with growing Lepto's together? Is this a bad idea? Here's an update :(
