I don’t know what this is sprouting everywhere

These are growing everywhere they are hard when you touch them .. are they bad what are they ? This will eventually be moved into a large 180 reef sps tank

They are vermitid snails. They are not necessarily bad, but they do have some disadvantages. One is they produce a web that can irritate corals. Another is they are very sharp and if you do any work in the tank you can end up with a cut hand.

I use tongs/tweezers to snap them off at the base. Can also put a dab of superglue or reef putty over them.

Those are Vermited snails. You do not want to move those to a new tank.

No. Manual removal or starving them to death.

Many people battle these and you can beat them.

I did as well

Go buy yourself a cheap pair of needle nose pliers.

Over and crush each one w the pliers and remove from the tank

When you are done each time, rinse the pliers w sink water and dry very well. You will be using them a few times and will not want any rust entering your system

Oh, it’s much easier if you can pull the rock out. Seeing you are going to be moving your rock to another tank you should be able to kick this

Pretty sure manual removal is your only option. If the rocks are easy to get out of the tank, just set them on the counter on a towel and start breaking them off at the base. They usually snap off pretty easy. It is a little time consuming, but worth it to remove them.

Until I move though right now it’s a 100 gallon Fowler so I should battle this while it’s in this tank

Tweezers will not work. You must be able to crush the tube completely and remove the snail in the tube as well.

Otherwise, it will just grow another tube and it happens quickly.
