Definitely check how much food it dumps. I have two of the Ehiem auto feeders on alternating schedules and opeing the slot very little can dump a LOT of food.I wouldn't worry about it. They won't die going without food for a few days. You can feed them more in these days before you leave. If you do go for a feeder, don't set it up right before you leave. Sometimes feeders dump too much food in, and if you're not around to make sure you've set it correctly, there's probably a greater risk of fish dying that way, than the other way around.
I’ve seen white blocks that are for fresh water and reef tanks that can feed your fish for up to 7 days or some up to 14 daysCan you set up an automatic feeder? If not they should be fine till you get back
