I have purchased two of these lights in the last 6 months. I'm happy with everything about them... almost...

The user interface leaves a lot to be desired. And I am hoping that some of the experienced Hydra users can help me.

I'm trying to tweak color settings within my light schedule. As an example, I'm trying to increase red for aesthetic reasons.

I am able to get the colors blended in a way I like, and then say done. But after 15 seconds, the lighting goes back to where it was.

I am sure I'm missing a step. Can someone help?

Thanks,
Dom

I may or may not be of help but I’ll do my best. When you are editing in AI’s app, it should show you the color you are editing for around 15 seconds and then default back to its currently running program. When you are adjusting light settings, are you adjusting the current time point or for a time later or earlier in the day? If you want more red throughout the day then you need to edit all of the desired time points to include red light.

Are you using the app? I hate mobius so. I run all of my Ai stuff using the my Ai app. I've never tried it without an app

Yes, I use the AI app. I haven't tried Mobius.

I believe that is what I am doing.

When running a light schedule, I touch the plus sign to show the current intensity of the different lights. I make my changes and everything looks great.

When I exit, it will ask me if I want to overwrite the current settings with the new settings. I choose OK. And then, it goes back to the previous settings in about 15 seconds.

I am not sure how complex your program is but are you able to just delete your current program (tank will go dark) and make a new program with the updated light settings? That way it has no ability to default back to your old program.

If your lighting program has 20 different time points throughout the day then this probably isn’t the best thing as that would be a pain to reprogram.

I'm not certain what you mean by "light points".

Deleting all; that's a good idea, and I will do it.

My light schedule is very simple:

Ramp up from 10:30am to Noon.
On from Noon to 7:30.
Ramp down from 7:30 to 9pm

Not sure if this helps. To edit a current time point tap edit after selecting the time point then make your changes and select the check mark to save

To add a time point just tap where you want to add it then click the plus sign. Make your settings and then the check mark again and it should save it.

I would just delete your entire program and reprogram it with the updated settings.

As for the time points: Some users will have 20+ different time points where at each hour they will have intensity variations (attempting to simulate cloud cover), each of these variations requires additional time points to shift the light intensity up and down. In your case you have a ramp up, leveling off, and ramp down which means you have four time points:
1) 1030am - light on at 0% intensity
- Ramp up -
2) Noon - desired intensity
- Hold intensity -
3) 730pm - desired intensity
- Ramp down -
4) 9pm - light off at 0% intensity

Not sure if that helped, it’s hard to explain through text.

I do understand; thank you.

UPDATE:

Deleting everything and recreating a new preset worked!

I wish there was a detailed manual on the Hydra 32s.

Thank you,
Dom
